Each student will complete an independent sequence assembly, alignment, annotation, and/or transcriptome analysis. This can be an analysis of your own data, data from your lab group, or publicly availble sequencing data. This assignment will consist of three parts:
- A brief research proposal (< 1 page - 50 pts - Due Sept 12th)
- Introduction - study species/system and relevant background
- Research question(s)
- Methods - general description of the analysis approaches you will use.
- Predictions/expected outcomes
- Well documented and reproducible analysis (50 pts - due Dec 9th)
- a markdown document describing your data sources, analysis steps, and links to .sh and .sbatch files to run analyses
- Markdown template
- Class presentation reporting your progess on your project (~25 min - 50 pts - sign up for presentation time below)
- Introduction - study species/system and relevant background
